Job Description:

Responsible for the setup and operating of vertical mills making tool adjustments for a variety of major automatic machines. Works from blueprints and process sheets to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances. May also make recommendations concerning use of and improvement upon materials and design.

Essential Functions:

  • Setup and operate CNC vertical mills using work offsets, tool height offsets, and familiarity with cutter compensation.

  • Light G code editing when required.

  • Inspect your own work/parts before giving to inspection dept. and during in process inspection.

  • Ability to work to and hold close tolerances.

  • Determines proper feed and speed adjustments if needed.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2-year post-secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior related experience.

  • Ability to work well in a team.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Good problem-solving.

  • Good communication.
