JOB OVERVIEW

Working as the CNC Miller or CNC Turner you will interpret engineering drawings and programme the machines to manufacture high quality machined components that meet drawing tolerances.

As the CNC Miller or CNC Turner you need an eye for detail with the ability to use a wide range of measuring equipment.

As a successful candidate you will join a small team of engineering professionals who manufacture components and bespoke assemblies to extremely high standards, to the highest quality requirements, across the many industry sectors in which they support.

DUTIES

Your duties as the CNC Machinist / Turner / Miller / Programmer / Setter / Operator include:

  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to set up CNC machinery

  • Program CNC mills or lathes using CAM software or G-code programming

  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for machining operations

  • Operate CNC equipment to machine components with precision and accuracy

  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency

  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery

  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications

  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Have extensive experience of Setting, Programming and Operating CNC machines

  • Ideally have a good working knowledge of Fanuc Controls (Ideally Haas CNC lathes) and preferably experienced with Hurco control system (Hurco machining centres). Training can be provided if experienced with other CNC control systems

  • Most of the work is currently programmed at the machine however offline programming experience would be preferred but not essential. Ideally knowledge of Fusion 360 would be advantageous, however training can be provided

  • Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and produce high quality machined components

  • Must take great care and pride in the machined components you will be expected to manufacture

  • Must be able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment within the workshop

  • £41,600 – £48,672 PA basic, based on experience (£20.00 to £23.40 P/H).
