salary: $60,000 – $70,000 per year

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Essential Requirements:

  • The CNC Operator will be responsible for performing complex set ups, operate and monitor assigned machines and must have the ability to run both CNC Lathes and Mills. The CNC Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.

    • Must have the knowledge and ability to run both CNC lathes and mills

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment

    • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines

    • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut

    • Very good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and tooling insert geometry.

    • Enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media

    • Load and qualify tooling for jobs

    • Bore/Mill jaws

    • Make adjustments such as tool stations, inserts, etc.

    • Perform programming edits

    • Communicates well with fellow employees, engineers, departments, and between shifts.

    • Consistently contributes to the overall output efficiency.

    • Effectively manages time, proactively plans by laying out work to be completed.

    • Able to assist others as needed on set ups

    • Make complex set ups

    • Read and understand programming and make edits

The essential functions of this role include:

  • working in a smoke free environment

  • wearing steel toe shoes

  • manual lifting up to 50lbs

  • standing for 8 hours at one time

  • working up to 10 hrs of overtime per week
