Overview

Key Responsibilities:

• Able to read, write and understand simple verbal and written English.
• Ability to handle oil well equipment parts safely with overhead cranes.
• Demonstrate ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Able to understand and apply basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Able to calculate, set and modify machining parameters (speeds, feeds, depths of cuts, tapers etc.)
• Able to follow instructed job layout and operate HBM/Lathe/Turn-Mill machines.
• Ability to use basic measuring instruments, gauges and measuring techniques.
• Ability to use a personal computer or workstation.
• Preferred exposure to manufacturing, refurbishing and mechanical environment
• Spends 100% of time in shop.

Major Responsibility Areas:
• Understands procedures, work orders, Drawings, set-up sheets and Part Report and follow workinstructions to plan the job layout with as few set-ups as possible.
• Sets-up machine as required using prescribed detail and operating procedures.
• Calculates speeds, feeds, depths of cuts and tapers for machining.
• Inputs labor details into MES System.
• Identifies the type of material being used and corrects or modifies tooling call-outs, offsets, speedsand feeds to allow for variations in the material.
• Performs the majority of machining operations needed to complete the part. Consistently meets orexceeds manufacturing, safety and quality targets.
• Uses material handling equipment to move parts and components to and from work area
• Promptly reports any operational problems or safety issues with machinery, tools or equipment toLine Leader.
• May perform additional operations on product such as cleaning, deburring, stamping and sanding.
• Learn and perform preventative maintenance on assigned machines.
• Ensure that safe work practices are followed and adhered to.• Practices good housekeeping in assigned area and properly disposes of waster according to safetyand environmental policies.
